The Stackyard privacy policy

For the Stackyard Chrome extension, version 0.6.51 and later · Last updated October 28, 2026

The short version

The Stackyard runs entirely in your browser. It does not collect, store, or send your personal data anywhere. There are no accounts, no analytics, no tracking, and no servers of ours.

What the extension reads

What the extension stores

Your settings and the feeds it has built are kept in Chrome's local extension storage on your computer: which haystacks you added, whether the haystack feed and Focus mode are on, the recommendations and posts it last fetched, and which posts you saved. Nothing is synced or sent to us. Removing the extension removes this data.

When it acts on your Substack account

Only when you click Save on a post in the Stackyard. That one action bookmarks the post to your own Substack Saved list, using the Substack session already open in your browser. The extension never posts, follows, subscribes, or changes anything else on your behalf.

Permissions it asks for

What it never does

If you send us a report

The bug and idea form is a page on this website, not part of the extension, and it only sends what you type there when you press Send: the report, the Stackyard version, and an email address if you choose to give one. Your browser type and a one-way scrambled form of your internet address (used only to stop spam floods) are stored with it. Reports are kept in a private database, sorted by an AI model so the useful ones are easy to find, and never sold or shared. Sending a report doesn't mean we'll reply or act on it.

Changes and contact

If this policy changes, the date at the top changes with it and the new version ships with the extension update. Questions: absutton.com.
